In 1985 a search was on for a logo for the newly formed Clowns of America International. Then president Hunter Stevens received 25 entries in a contest that was launched. The design, submitted by Marjorie K. Smart was chosen. It met all of the criteria set forth – it was 2-color, the design was clear and simple, and could be made into a patch.
Pictured here are Maxine “Tip” Stein and Bill “Kolo” Kolodin of Alley #6, Kapitol Klowns along with the new logo that was premiered at the convention in 1986.
